A view down Biccieni Alley, Zabbar. (Or Biccieni Sqaq in Malti. Note that the "q" is pronounced Arabic-style as a glottal stop, so that "Sqaq" is almost unpronounceable for Westerners. The nearest approximation to the sound is "Suh-Uhh".) No. 14/15 is on the right -- a house with two front doors for unknown historical reasons. |
Biccieni Alley seen from the roof of No. 14/15. The road that you see intersecting with the Alley is Main Street, where you will find local shops selling the essentials of life. Even a camera shop that sells paper for your computer printer. Note that Biccieni Alley is (just) wide to take road vehicles, but it is a cul-de-sac so there is no passing traffic. There are parking spaces in the nearby side-streets, about two or three minutes walk from the house. |
